Expert AC Wiring Installation in Eastern Connecticut

AC wiring installation is one of the most common electrical needs across Hartford County, CT. Whether you are adding central air to an older home or upgrading circuits for a new system, the wiring has to be sized and installed correctly. Many homes throughout Hartford County were built before modern air conditioning loads were a design consideration. That means older panels and circuits often cannot handle a new AC unit without dedicated wiring work. Connecticut electrical code requires dedicated 240V circuits for air conditioning systems, along with proper GFCI and AFCI protection where applicable. O'Connell's Electrical Contractors handles the full scope: load assessment, circuit installation, and code-compliant connections from panel to disconnect. We work in occupied homes and active commercial spaces with minimal disruption. If your panel needs attention before the new circuit can be added, we will tell you clearly and walk you through your options. Call O'Connell's Electrical Contractors to schedule your AC wiring assessment in Hartford County today.

I recently hired O’connell’s electric for a complete service upgrade from 100-amp to 200-amp, along with some additional wiring. From start to finish, the work was executed to the highest professional standard—clean, precise, and fully code-compliant. What truly stood out was Michael’s exceptional approach to the job. He was incredibly polite and courteous, took the time to thoroughly explain every step of the process, and answered all of our questions in clear, easy-to-understand terms. The upgrade was completed efficiently and with minimal disruption to our home, and the final result is outstanding. Beyond the technical expertise, he is simply an excellent human being—patient, respectful, and genuinely caring about doing the job right. I felt completely confident and well-informed throughout the entire project. I highly recommend Michael from O’Connell Electric to anyone needing electrical work. Professional, trustworthy, and truly top-tier. We will definitely use their services again and will be referring them to family and friends. Thank you for the outstanding work!

I requested the job get done on a Thursday Between 9 AM and 5 PM and Mike made it happen. Mike showed Up on time and the new 200 amp service was finished by 3 PM. Mike did a professional job, cleaned up and was very polite. I plan on hiring him again and will refer my friends who need electrical work done to Mike without any hesitation.

Mike was first contacted for a complete install of an outdoor set up for my hot tub. After Mike’s professional and clean work he has since been my go to for any issues in my home. Mike has installed lights, fans, rewired my kitchen during a complete renovation and has recommended the perfect upgrades for my home to include under cabinet lighting. Wouldn’t call anyone else from something small to a complete overhaul!

Michael O'Connell is an excellent electrician. He came and gave me an estimate the day after I called him. Then came and installed chandeliers for me about a day later. He actually calls you back or texts, shows up on time, cleans up after the work is done. Also,I think fair pricing. Very efficient person. Very easy to work with as well. I highly recommend Michael, can't say enough nice things about him. Lisa Maynard,Old Lyme
